Gordon Drive Beach Estate & Bayside Guest House
For A. Vernon Allen, Randy managed the construction of this massive project on Gordon Drive. The beach and bay homes are a mixture of south pacific (Tahitian) and modern architectural endeavors. The roof lines and exterior walls are modern architectural in influence, but the Tahitian influences start to control the structures’ design from that point forward. The exterior and interior ceiling are all appointed with south pacific beam layout patterns and the interior trim is Afromosia in the beach home and interior trim is Supele in the bay home.
The Beach HouseThe construction of any beach home is different from the construction of structures just across the street. The caustic environment of beach living, which include infinite exposure of sea salt and ultra violets has a vast damaging effect on building and their performance longevity. The beach house is designed and constructed to not only address these caustic issues but include the effects of catastrophic tidal issues that occur during massive storm events. These beach structures are designed and built to withstand the storm tidal surges and incorporate “break away” wall to allow the tidal surge to flow through foundation walls while maintaining structural integrity. Even the beach front residential swimming pools are designed and constructed to break apart and fold upon themselves to allow the wave action to flow over the pool shell and not affect the residences of the home owner or the neighbors. All cabinets are custom manufactured from a variety of exotic commissioned woods with countertop materials of world class stone and teaks. Several cabinets and doors along with the jambs are hand carved by artisans from Germany and the south Pacific. The wood flooring is manufactured from Wisconsin walnut and finished with a furniture quality facing.

The Bay HouseJust across the street, the bay house (guest home) is 5800 square feet of Tahitian influences. The great room ceiling is beamed with large bamboo trusses and opens to a clear story windows appointment. The flooring is pedrables tile with a darker south pacific finish. The cabinets are custom made with brushed finish countertops in an assortment of stones.
